Yujin and Video Games

Recently I received an e-mail from one of Yujin's associates in Tulsa.  I was amazed, but quite proud that my son had risen to the reported status.-- Jay Preston

Hello - my name is Saif Khan, a random person that lives in Tulsa Ok.  I and several others have a common bond - a game called Soul Calibur - now in it's 3rd set of the series Soul Calibur 2 - that we all enjoy.  We - those that I refer to - play at a arcade called Funhouse, in Tulsa as well.  Over the last 5 years or so, many many players of this game - a fighting game that you can find at many local arcades across the nation - we kind of feel like family
some days - and well, try and keep tabs on those of us that have come and gone - and those that are still around.

I write you this day because those 2+ years back when one of the local funhouse players / employee's had spotted the news report of Yujin's accident - it didn't go unnoticed to us.  Yujin - not always someone I got along with personally, but as a player I respected for his ability to find EVERYTHING annoying about the game - and work it into perfection - was a fellow and respected player.  He had added several 'combos' and found aspects of the game that in all likelihood we still use on some level to this day - not even being able to distinguish the lines anymore.  Yujin was - if nothing else - a gaming friend of several of the players - a lot that have moved on - but a few of us are still around - and he has been missed.  Several months after his passing the arcade game showed up with a new ranked high score on it - bearing his initials.  A memorial in someone's own way I suppose.  Either way - I contact you to ask if I can use your site link -http://www.safetybiz.com/obit.htm - in a thread I wish to start on a Soul Calibur forum.  It's nothing big really - probably won't get much reading at all - but I wish to do it because he was missed - he has been thought of - and as a old member of our community if nothing else - should be noted officially in a open way somehow - in my opinion at least.  I actually have no clue how the original guy - a friend of mine that also plays SC and randomly showed me your site today - got to your site logically.  When he retraced his path to get back to your site-  he had used google - so I assume he randomly put your son's name in.  No clue really - not going to even ask - but I'm glad however he came across the idea of doing it - that he did.  I also was happy to find your site - thank you for
putting it up.  Well - as you can see I have a tendency to rant heh - sorry - but I do wish to use your site link for a quick note in the forums just as a reminder of one of the many that have made Tulsa great over the years - Yujin is one of the few I'm no longer able to call up or email to thank - so this is my way of doing so if possible.  Thank you.

Saif

And thank you, Saif.  Of course, you have permission. -- JP
